Affiliate Marketers Need Lists, Too

Affiliate marketers sell other people’s products so why would they need a list.

It makes sense for affiliate marketers to build their own lists because everyone needs a customer base. Every dollar spent on advertising should be working hard for you. If you were to spend an amount on advertising that brought in one hundred customers, wouldn’t it make sense to sell more products to those hundred customers and make the cost of your advertising work harder and produce better results?

It makes sense that people who have already bought products from you would buy again, assuming they were happy with the first product. They begin to trust you and feel comfortable taking your advice or recommendations.

You should consider having a list for each category of product you are an affiliate for and looking into cross marketing. Many customers in the self-help category could be interested in internet marketing. You could probably look into your own niches for cross marketing opportunities.

Whenever you have a new product you want to market you can send an email to your list and make sales. People who are interested in a product often will buy several products in the same niche and having bought form you before they are more likely to buy again. They may even thank you for giving them more products of interest to buy.

Many people do not buy something the first time they see an advertisement. They may be busy, temporarily short of funds or just not sure if they really want the item. If they are on your list, you have several opportunities to present them with your offer. If you have no list, you only get one shot.
